I wanted to be the best instructor I could be.

I’ve had different careers but my passion has always been for Pilates.

My journey has spanned over 30 years, beginning in global investment banking in the City and evolving into owning and running my own estate agency in Kensington & Chelsea. During this time I always had a passion for Pilates and holistic well-being so in 2017, after selling my property business, I dedicated myself fully to this passion and enrolled in the prestigious Alan Herdman Pilates teacher training school in Canary Wharf. Alan Herdman, a guru in the Pilates community, brought the practice to the UK in 1970 after training in New York with instructors who had worked directly with Joseph Pilates. The rigorous 12-month programme, led by Alan required over 450 hours of observation and shadowing, as well as in-depth exams in anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal conditions. After earning my qualification in 2018, I was privileged to join Alan and his team at Third Space in Canary Wharf, where I taught until the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a shift to online instruction. Embracing the change, I transitioned my business to Zoom, offering 1:1, group, and corporate mat Pilates classes.

Why I am so passionate about Pilates - as an older mum, I am determined to stay as fit, healthy, and as active as possible. Pilates has been a cornerstone of my life for many years, and now, nearing my 60s, its benefits are more evident than ever. I still feel strong, flexible, and energized.  While I do have some degeneration in my facet joints, something common for my age, Pilates has been instrumental in managing the discomfort. Pilates has taught me invaluable lessons about body awareness and the importance of maintaining good posture.  I can’t think of any other exercise regime or sport that focuses on finding balance between the major muscle groups or doesn’t work on strength or flexibility alone.  Pilates ensures that your body is working as a whole. It strengthens the weaker muscles, lengthens the tight ones, and improves overall alignment, making sure everything’s in harmony. So whether you’re trying to build core strength, improve flexibility, or even correct your posture, Pilates keeps everything in balance.  It’s never too late to start Pilates. It’s accessible to all ages, fitness levels, and abilities. Being low-impact, it’s gentle on the joints and highly adaptable. It strengthens the body in all the ways necessary to stay strong and minimise the risk of injury throughout life. My passion for posture stems from knowing that poor posture leads to muscle imbalances, which can negatively affect the body.

I love to teach and I love to see the benefits my students gain from Pilates.
